ESL has officially announced that the Counter-Strike 2 tournament IEM Cologne 2027 will be held in Cologne, Germany from August 4th to 15th, 2027.
As one of the world's top professional CS2 tournaments, this year's competition will once again return to the Lanxess Arena, known as the "CS Temple".
This year's tournament has invited 24 of the world's top teams to compete for a total prize pool of $1.25 million. The competition is divided into two stages, with the highly anticipated knockout stage scheduled for August 12-15, lasting four days.
Notably, this year's knockout stage will feature a 360-degree panoramic stage at the Lanxess Arena for the first time. This change aims to bring the audience and players closer together, significantly enhancing the overall audiovisual and viewing experience.
Marc Winther, Counter-Strike 2 Esports Director at ESL FACEIT Group, stated that Gamescom brings together top teams and passionate players from around the world, making it one of the most representative tournaments for the game. The introduction of a 360-degree stage design is a new attempt by the team to enhance the viewing experience while maintaining its rich heritage of over a decade.
