Luka Vuskovic has officially joined Brighton and signed a five-year contract with the club.

Brighton & Hove Albion have officially announced the completion of the transfer of Croatian defender Luka Vuskovic. The 19-year-old centre-back joined Brighton from Tottenham Hotspur on a five-year contract, with the club retaining an option to extend for another year.  

Brighton manager Fabian Schürzel said: "Luka Vuskovic has shown impressive potential early in his career, and we have been watching his development closely. Last season, he proved that he can compete at a high level. We expect him to continue to improve and further realize his potential after arriving at Brighton."  

"There has been a lot of attention surrounding Luka Vuskovic's move to Brighton. However, he is still a young player and needs time to adapt to the new environment and the pace of the Premier League. We have full confidence in his abilities and believe he can successfully complete this development process."  

Luka Vuskovic developed through the Hajduk Split youth academy and made his professional league debut in February 2023, just two days after his 16th birthday, making him one of the youngest players to debut in Croatia's top-flight league history.  

In the second half of the 2023/24 season, Luka Vuszkovic went to Poland on loan to play for Radomijak Radom. After one season, he was loaned out again to Belgian First Division team Westerlo, where his consistent and excellent performance earned him recognition and eventually earned him a chance to join Tottenham Hotspur.  

Last season was the most outstanding year of Luka Vuskovic's career to date. His excellent performance at Hamburg propelled him into the ranks of Europe's most promising young defenders, winning the Bundesliga Young Player of the Month award four times and ultimately taking home the season's Best Young Player award. Furthermore, his consistent performance earned him a place in the Bundesliga Team of the Season, and he also demonstrated a scoring ability rarely seen in a center-back.  

To date, Luka Vuskovic has made 78 official appearances for the club's first team, scoring 16 goals. He has also made 6 appearances for the Croatian national team, scoring one international goal.  

In addition to his solid defensive abilities, Luka Vuskovic also frequently delivers brilliant performances on the offensive end. He won the Belgian Golden Boot for Goal of the Year in 2024 with a stunning long-range strike and the Bundesliga Goal of the Year award in 2025. At the national team level, his most recent appearance for Croatia was at this summer's World Cup, where he started in the group stage match against England.
