Ross Barkley believes the team performed exceptionally well in the game, and this victory was crucial for the entire team.

Ross Barkley was delighted to be a part of the team's impressive performance. Aston Villa displayed formidable attacking firepower in the Champions League, ultimately thrashing Fenerbahce 6-0. Barkley scored twice and provided an assist at Villa Park, helping his team secure their first home win of the season with a resounding victory.

This resounding 6-0 victory not only broke Aston Villa's record for the biggest win in European competitions, but also filled Ross Barkley with pride for helping the team achieve such an outstanding result. After the match, he said, "The whole team played exceptionally well, and we really needed a win like this."

"The team is still working on cohesion, and there are many new faces joining the squad. We are gradually building chemistry through daily training, and our overall teamwork in today's match showed good results. The team has many excellent players and has also welcomed several new signings. I am very happy to be able to play my part in this match, score two goals, and help the whole team further boost their confidence."

Speaking about Aston Villa's impressive 11-game home winning streak in European competitions, Ross Barkley added, "The atmosphere here might exceed some opponents' expectations; the fans create a very enthusiastic atmosphere. As long as we win on the pitch, they will support us wholeheartedly."

"This is precisely why John McGinn plays a key role in the team. He not only excels at dominating physical battles but also helps the team control the tempo of the game, while inspiring his teammates and fans with his passion. We played a fantastic game today, and hopefully we can continue this performance and make further progress."

Aston Villa are gradually regaining their best form and preparing for the 2026/27 season. The team has only suffered one defeat in their last seven matches, showing a positive overall trend. With Unai Emery continuously refining the team's tactical system, the new signings this summer are also gradually adapting to the team's style of play. Ross Barkley has great confidence in the team's future performance.

He said, "As the season progresses week by week, everyone in the team continues to grow, and the head coach is the key figure driving all of this. In my opinion, he is one of the best coaches in the world. As time goes by, everyone will gradually accumulate experience and continue to improve, and this trend is indeed very exciting."

"Once you become familiar with and master the team's tactics, as long as you adjust your state on match day, you can deal with the game more calmly, and your overall performance on the field will be smoother."

“I am very happy to be a part of this club. The club itself and the team are of a very high standard, and the overall environment is very satisfactory. For me, the most important thing is to always be ready, whether the coach puts me in the starting lineup or I come on as a substitute during the game.”

"Whenever I get a chance to play, I give it my all and try my best to show my abilities. If I don't perform to my full potential in a game, I have to respond in the next game, take responsibility, and strive to continuously improve my performance. The competition within the team is always very fierce, especially in the midfield position where there are four or five players competing, so I must always be in top condition."
