Toda Ekert: The team demonstrated strong cohesion and teamwork in this match.

Toda Ekert highly praised the teamwork shown by his players during the match. Southampton fought hard in this challenging game, ultimately securing their first away victory in the Championship this season. The only goal of the match was scored by Kuki Matsuki, who quickly followed up after Kasper Yandl's initial shot was parried by the goalkeeper, scoring from close range to seal the win for his team.

Midway through the first half, Flynn Towns was forced to leave the game due to injury, forcing Toda Ekert to make early substitutions. At halftime, he replaced two full-backs, as Ryan Manning and Zach Abbott, making his debut for the team, had both received yellow cards. Despite facing multiple challenges throughout the match, Toda Ekert was satisfied with the team's performance in holding their own and securing the victory.

Toda Ekert said after the match: "We really had a tough game today, and the whole team put in a lot of effort. We faced a lot of difficulties during the game, including having to make substitutions due to injuries and making several substitutions at halftime. After those adjustments, we only had two substitutions left in the second half, but the players ultimately managed to cope with the situation."

“I think that’s the most crucial point. Although the season is still in its early stages, the team must strive for the desired results regardless of how the games go. The fans have always given us unwavering support, especially in the second half when the team needed encouragement the most. This game fully demonstrated the team’s spirit of unity.”

Southampton previously defeated Portsmouth at St. Mary's Stadium to win the South Coast derby, and now they have won 1-0 against Norwich City, securing two consecutive victories by the same scoreline. It's worth noting that the team failed to keep a clean sheet in the first eight rounds of the Championship this season.

When discussing the significance of the team keeping two consecutive clean sheets, Toda Ekert said: "We have always valued this very much. During the international break, we identified several areas where the team needed to improve, and one of the key aspects was that even if the team only scored one goal, we must be able to hold onto the advantage and secure the three points."

“We can’t score five goals in every game. Previously, the team didn’t concede many goals defensively, but we failed to keep a clean sheet in the first eight rounds of this season. Improving our defensive quality has always been a key focus for us as opponents gradually advance to our penalty area.”

"We did experience a few close calls towards the end of the game. Norwich City is a strong team, and they always found a way to push their attacks into our penalty area, putting us under constant pressure. In such situations, we had to ensure our defense was solid, and the players deserve credit for their performance on the defensive end tonight."
