Germany, nicknamed the "German Machine," will face the United States in the next round of matches, and head coach Julian Nagelsmann has stated that he believes striker Kai Havertz will play an important role in the World Cup.
In the 2025/26 Premier League season, Havertz contributed two goals and three assists for Arsenal, and together with his teammates, helped the team win the Premier League title.
In last month's Champions League final, Arsenal got off to a dream start thanks to a goal from Havertz, but conceded a goal later in the game and lost 3-4 to Paris Saint-Germain in a penalty shootout, ultimately failing to achieve their goal of winning the double.
Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann said, "Havertz will go directly to the United States to join us. He can't wait to join the team. We need Havertz, and his goal in the Champions League final was truly spectacular."
"Everyone can see his importance, whether it's his commitment on the defensive end, his excellent heading ability, or even his role in defending set pieces."
Nagelsmann also said, "He is a very good person and a top player, and I believe he will have an outstanding performance this summer."
In addition, forwards who were called up to the German national team along with Havertz include Windough and Waltmard.
When discussing the competition within the team, 26-year-old Havertz said, "Wendaf's stats speak for themselves; he had a fantastic season in Stuttgart. He's already an important member of the national team, and he and all the players know that. There's no one here who's afraid of anyone. We have to move forward as a whole, and whatever the team needs, everyone has to be ready."
“There’s no intense competition here. Everyone supports and helps each other, and that’s the most important thing. All three of us forwards like to control the ball and want to get it into the penalty area. Everyone has different strengths. Winduff has an excellent nose for goal and a high scoring rate, and he’s often in the right position.”
Havertz also stated, "Waltmad's footwork is also excellent, and with his height advantage, he can create a strong presence in the penalty area. As for me, I'm probably somewhere in between. We have different characteristics, but our goals are completely the same."
“We support each other and there will be no conflicts. We are here to fight together, and our common goal is to go further in the World Cup.”
