José Bordár has renewed his contract with Getafe, extending it until June 2028.

Getafe Football Club has officially announced that it has extended the contract of head coach José Bordár. The two parties have added two years to the original contract, which will run until June 2028.

José Bordár has played a pivotal role in Getafe's recent development. Since taking over in September 2016, the Alicante-born coach has led the team to numerous breakthroughs. One of the most significant achievements was leading the team to promotion in the 2016/17 season, helping Getafe return to La Liga after a year of relegation.

After leading the team to promotion, José Bordár further propelled Getafe to new heights, transforming them into a mainstay of La Liga and writing a glorious chapter in the club's history. In the 2018/19 season, Getafe finished fifth in the league, achieving one of their best results in club history and qualifying for European competition. The team then performed admirably in the Europa League, successfully advancing to the round of 16.

When José Bordár returned to the Alfonso Pérez Stadium in 2023, he once again proved his vital importance to the team. The manager led the team to a draw against Valladolid in the final round of the 2022/23 season, helping them secure their place in La Liga. Since then, he has not only guided the team towards stability, but his coaching achievements, personal charisma, and long-standing close relationship with the club have also made him a crucial link between the team and its fans.

The recently concluded season was undoubtedly a year of pride for all Getafe fans. The team not only continued its positive momentum but also successfully secured UEFA Europa League qualification, leaving a glorious mark on the club's history.
