June 26th - According to ESPN, the Boston Celtics are still actively involved in trade discussions regarding All-Star forward Jaylen Brown. Several teams have already expressed clear interest in the star player.
Despite ongoing trade rumors, Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens emphasized in an interview that Brown remains an important part of the team and that he is maintaining ongoing communication with management. "Jaylen has always been a player we value highly, and we will continue to communicate with him, but the future is unpredictable," Stevens stated.
Brown, 29, has three years remaining on his contract, worth approximately $285 million. This season, he had the best performance of his career, averaging 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, finishing sixth in MVP voting and being selected to the All-NBA Second Team.
As one of the team's core players, Brown played for the Celtics for ten years, reaching the NBA Finals twice and helping the team win their 18th championship in 2024, while also winning the Finals MVP and Eastern Conference Finals MVP.
