Belgium, the "Red Devils" of Europe, will face Senegal in the Round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup. Rudi Garcia said he was happy that all the players in the squad were available to play, and encouraged them to have confidence in themselves.
In the third round of the World Cup group stage, Belgium defeated Australia 5-1 with goals from Trossard, De Bruyne, Lukaku and Saelemaekers, securing their place in the round of 32.
Belgium coach Rudi Garcia said, "We were fortunate that all our players were available before this match against Senegal, which is a good thing because it wasn't the case in the previous three matches."
"Unfortunately, not everyone was 100% healthy at the time, and not everyone fully recovered, but that's all in the past now."
Rudi Garcia also stated, "Doku and Lukaku are both getting better and better, and as for De Cerrare, I think his problems have been resolved as well. Our goal was to qualify as group winners, and we did it."
"Of course I hope we can win more games, or even all of them, but the past cannot be changed. The most important thing now is that we have successfully made it out of the group stage."
It is worth mentioning that Germany and the Netherlands, who were considered the favorites in this tournament, were both eliminated in the round of 32 after playing to penalties.
Rudi Garcia also said, "I don't think it matters who the favorite is. What really matters is that we have confidence in ourselves and can stay focused and sharp enough to win this game."
"Previous matches have taught us that it doesn't matter whether you're a favorite or not. We must stay alert and focused in order to win the matches."
