Coventry City have extended the contract of their successful manager Frank Lampard for two years, until June 2029.

Coventry City Football Club announced on Sunday that it has extended the contract of its 48-year-old manager Frank Lampard by two years, extending it until June 30, 2029, from its original expiration date of 2027.

Lampard had a brilliant playing career, winning one Champions League title, one Europa League title, three Premier League titles, four FA Cup titles, two League Cup titles, and two Community Shield titles with Chelsea. He also made 106 appearances for the England national team, scoring 29 goals and providing 12 assists.

After retiring in 2017, Lampard began his managerial career with Chelsea's reserve team. He then moved to Derby County, Chelsea, and Everton, before officially succeeding Mark Robbins as Coventry City manager in November 2024.

To date, Lampard has a record of 46 wins, 16 draws, and 20 losses with Coventry City. He also led the team to win the Championship title last season, returning to the Premier League after a 25-year absence with three rounds to spare.

Following the contract extension, Lampard stated in a press release: "I am delighted to sign a new contract with the club. It is a great honor for me to continue representing this club."

After winning the Championship last season, it was a natural decision to have him lead us on our first Premier League campaign in 25 years.”
