RB Leipzig officially signed Japanese attacker Sakurahiro Yamamoto and loaned him to Omiya Ardija.

RB Leipzig announced on Sunday that they have signed Kashiwa Reysol attacker Sakurahiro Yamamoto. The two sides have reached a five-year contract, valid until June 30, 2031.

According to Sky Sports Germany, Sakuraichi Yamamoto's transfer fee is approximately €500,000. After signing the contract, he will be loaned to Omiya Ardija, a Red Bull subsidiary, until June 30, 2027.

The 22-year-old Sakura Yamamoto primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, but can also play as a shadow striker, right winger, right midfielder, and center forward. On February 18, 2023, he made his professional debut for Kashiwa Reysol in the first round of the J1 League against Gamba Osaka.

To date, Sakurahiro Yamamoto has made 25 appearances for Kashiwa Reysol, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists. He has also been loaned out to Tochigi SC, Renofa Yamaguchi, and Omiya Ardija, where he played 19 J2 League matches for Omiya Ardija, contributing 10 goals and 3 assists.

After completing the transfer, Sakurahiro Yamamoto said: "I will be on loan from RB Leipzig to Omiya Ardija. I am very grateful to both clubs for giving me this opportunity.
