Tomas Soucek: I will focus on training and rehabilitation, and strive to return to the court in better shape.

West Ham United midfielder Soucek suffered an ankle ligament injury while playing for the Czech Republic in the 2026 World Cup. He stated that he will actively engage in rehabilitation and strive to return to the field in better form. The 31-year-old midfielder was injured during the group stage match against Mexico and will subsequently return to the London training ground for further examination and evaluation.

During his recovery from injury, Tomas Soucek shared his thoughts on social media, reflecting on the recent difficult period for both his club and country. West Ham United were relegated, and the Czech Republic were eliminated in the group stage of the World Cup. He stated that he will focus on his recovery, regain his best form as soon as possible, and help the team return to the Premier League.

Since joining West Ham United from Slavia Prague in January 2020, Tomas Soucek has made 271 appearances and scored 44 goals, becoming the highest-scoring Czech player in Premier League history. During his time with the club, he won the UEFA Champions League title in 2023 and was named the team's Player of the Season in the 2020/21 season.

Tomas Soucek wrote on social media: "This is not the way I would have liked to end the season, whether at West Ham United or with the Czech national team, not to mention with injuries. I am sorry for not being able to give the fans the moments and results they deserve, and that is harder for me to accept than anything else."

"The beauty of football is that there are always new challenges waiting ahead. The new season will start soon, which also means new opportunities to make up for everything. As a professional player, I have been fortunate to avoid serious injuries in the past 12 years. Now, I have to face a difficult period that I have never experienced before. But those who know me know one thing: I never give up easily!"

"This injury won't shake my mentality; on the contrary, it will make me more determined. I will focus on training and rehabilitation in the coming weeks and months, striving to return to the court in better shape, whether as a player, a teammate, or as a person. During my recovery, I will support my teammates from the sidelines. Once I return to the court, I will continue to give my all and fight alongside my brothers."
