Jon Gurridy: I will strive to repay the club's trust with my actions.

Sevilla's new signing Jon Gurriddi gave an official interview to the club ahead of his preseason medical. The midfielder shared his reasons for joining Sevilla, his feelings about working with head coach Luis Garcia again, and his goals and expectations for the new season.

When asked about his feelings on joining Sevilla, Jon Gurridi said, "On the day I signed the contract, I received a lot of well wishes, which made me very happy and blessed. Many people care about me and support my choice, which makes me feel that I have always been recognized by everyone."

“We just arrived here a few days ago, and for someone like me from northern Spain, the temperature is definitely much higher. But I’m really happy to be in Seville and can’t wait to start a new chapter. I’ve been here many times before and I’ve always loved this city. Although it’s hot during the day and not ideal for going out, we’ll gradually get used to the pace of life here once everything is settled.”

I was very happy when I received his call because we had worked together at Alavés before. “I think I can play in all three midfield positions, but if I had to say which position is best suited for me, it would be number 8. I can participate in the team's organization and progression, as well as push forward to participate in the attack. Of course, I can also play as an attacking midfielder, because I played as number 10 many times when Luiz was coaching Alavés.”

“From a tactical perspective, I am a player with strong execution skills, a good ability to judge the game situation, and a good ability to intercept through anticipation. I rely more on positional awareness and tackling than on physical confrontation. Of course, I think there is still room for improvement, especially in terms of scoring goals.
