Monaco has officially appointed Filipe Luis as their new manager, with a contract running until 2028.

Monaco announced on Monday the official appointment of 40-year-old Filipe Luis as head coach. He will succeed Sebastian Pocognoli on a contract until June 30, 2028.

The official announcement also confirmed that Felipe will take office with his coaching team. His four key assistants are assistant coaches Ivan Palanco and Anthony Santiago, fitness coach Diogo Rimáres, and goalkeeper coach Yuri Nieminen.

Filipe Luis had a brilliant playing career, winning one Premier League title, one English League Cup, two UEFA Europa League titles, one La Liga title, one Copa del Rey title, two Copa Libertadores titles, two Brazilian Serie A titles, and one Copa Sudamericana title with Chelsea, Atlético Madrid, and Flamengo. He also represented Brazil 44 times, winning the Confederations Cup and Copa America titles.

In September 2024, Filipe officially succeeded Tite as Flamengo's head coach. To date, he has led the team to a record of 62 wins, 21 draws, and 16 losses, and has won one Copa Libertadores title, one Brazilian Serie A title, one Brazilian Cup title, one Brazilian Super Cup title, and two Rio de Janeiro State League titles.

After completing the signing, Filipe Luis said in an official video: "I am very happy to come to Monaco, it is a dream come true for me. I can't wait to start training the players and see them implement my tactical ideas on the field and win."

We will do everything we can to achieve our goals, strive to be at the top of the standings, and win as many games as possible, because Monaco needs to win.”
