West Ham United striker Callum Wilson joins Brentford on a free transfer..

Brentford announced on their official website on Saturday that West Ham United's England international striker Callum Wilson has joined the club on a free transfer.

According to Brentford's official statement, Wilson has signed on a short-term one-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2027.

After completing his transfer procedures, Wilson, who was first interviewed by the Brentford official website for the first time, said: "It feels great and amazing, I'm grateful for this opportunity, and I'm delighted to be here and be part of this family."

"I've spoken with the manager. We had a great time, and he was very welcoming. He shared his vision and expectations for the club, and I feel I can contribute to the team."

"I've watched Brentford play many times before and have played against them, and I really like the atmosphere and cohesion of the team. I feel I can fit in."

"Their games were fantastic, Brentford played very well. I like their midfielders." 

"Their style of play is great; everyone pushes forward aggressively. As a striker, you know you'll get a lot of chances, which is fantastic."

About Callum Wilson

The 34-year-old Wilson was born on February 27, 1992, in Coventry, England. He is 1.8 meters tall, plays as a center forward, and holds English, Irish, and Jamaican citizenship.

Wilson joined the Coventry City youth academy at a young age and completed his first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in an Carabao Cup match in August 2009.

Early in his career, Wilson was loaned-out to non-league clubs, Kettering Town and Tamworth, to gain match experience.

After his loan spell ended, Wilson returned to Coventry City and became a regular starter for the first-team in the summer of 2013.

In July 2014, Wilson joined Bournemouth for £3 million.

During his six-year spell with the Cherries, Wilson maintained a high goal-scoring efficiency, helping the club win one EFL Championship title.

After Bournemouth's relegation, Wilson moved to Newcastle United in September 2020 for £20 million.

During his five years with the Magpies, Wilson won one Carabao Cup with the club.

After his contract expired in the summer of 2025, Wilson joined West Ham United on a free transfer.

Last season, Wilson made 35 appearances for the Hammers in all competitions, scoring 7 goals and providing 1 assist, but unfortunately, he couldn't help West Ham avoid relegation to the EFL Championship.
