Bologna announced on Monday that Rahim Alassane has joined from Real Oviedo. The two sides expect him to sign a contract until June 30, 2031, with an option to extend for another year.
Multiple sources have confirmed that the transfer fee is approximately 3.5 million euros.
The 24-year-old Arrasane came through the rapid youth academy of Majadahonda and joined Real Oviedo from Huelva in July 2024 for €300,000. He primarily plays as a left-back for Oviedo, making 57 appearances and providing one assist to date, playing a crucial role in the team's promotion to La Liga.
At the national team level, Alassane has also made an impact. Since his first call-up to the Niger national team in March 2022, he has made 26 appearances in international competitions and contributed 3 assists.
With his contract officially in effect, Alassane became the first Nigerien player in Bologna's history. Next season, he will compete with Bologna's starting left-back Juan Miranda, and the two are expected to alternate starting positions.
Arrasane is currently unable to participate in team training due to incomplete Italian residency permit procedures. If all goes well, he will report to new coach Domenico Tedesco on Wednesday.
