Aston Villa have officially announced the loan signing of Alejandro Ganacho for one season.

Aston Villa have officially announced the completion of a loan signing, with Argentine international Alejandro Ganacho joining the team from Chelsea on a one-season loan. The 22-year-old attacker developed through Manchester United's youth academy, making 144 appearances for the Red Devils' first team before joining Chelsea in the summer of 2025.

Alejandro Ganacho is a versatile attacking player, capable of playing on the left or right flanks or behind the center forward. Last season, he made 43 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, contributing 8 goals. To date, the Argentine international has made 8 appearances for his national team and was named the FIFA Puskás Award for his spectacular bicycle kick against Everton in 2024.

Speaking about the signing, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery said: "We are thrilled to welcome Alejandro Ganacho to the team. He has outstanding talent and tremendous potential, and more importantly, he has consistently shown a strong desire to join us and become a part of our plans to achieve our goals. We are very pleased to have made this signing."

After completing his loan move from Chelsea to Aston Villa, Alejandro Ganacho said he hopes to regain his best form here and help the team achieve its goals in the new season through his performance.

In his first interview after joining the club, Alejandro Ganacho said: "I am very excited to be here. I can't wait to put on the jersey and step onto the pitch. Aston Villa is a club with a rich history and has developed very rapidly in recent years, so I am looking forward to starting this new journey as soon as possible."

“I hope to join a team where I can rediscover my best form and confidence, and I also hope to show the performance I had when I first joined Manchester United’s first team. I have spoken with the manager, and I believe he will give me full support and trust so that I can play a role on the pitch and contribute to the team.”

Alejandro Ganacho is an attacking player capable of playing in multiple forward positions, with his best position being left winger. He joined Aston Villa as the team was fully preparing for the new Champions League season, and the opportunity to compete in the Champions League again was one of the key factors that led to his decision to join.

He said: "I have been following the team's performance in the Europa League last season, and now being able to compete in the Champions League with the team is a very special opportunity for me. I am very excited about it. Before joining, I had in-depth conversations with Unai Emery, and he gave me a lot of trust and encouragement, which was an important factor in my final decision to come here."

"Being able to compete in European competitions is always a very important thing, and the Champions League is the ultimate stage that all European clubs dream of. We will be participating in this competition in the new season, and I am full of expectations for it. I also hope to create unforgettable results with the team."

Previously, Alejandro Ganagjo had played for Manchester United and Chelsea at Villa Park on numerous occasions, contributing an assist in Chelsea's 4-1 victory over Aston Villa last season. Now, this familiar stadium will become his new home. Speaking about the change, Ganagjo added: "Villa Park has always been one of my favorite Premier League stadiums, and I'm incredibly excited to be a player for my team here. I can't wait to meet the fans."
