Jeter Howard joins the Mavericks on a two-way contract to start the new season

July 25 - The Dallas Mavericks officially announced that they have signed guard / forward Jet Howard to a two-way contract.

 

The 2.03 - meter - tall Dwight Howard has played for the Orlando Magic for the past three seasons. To date, he has played 133 games, averaging 4.5 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 11 minutes per game .

 

In the 2025-26 season, Howard played 55 games for the Magic, averaging 5.5 points per game and setting a new career high, with a three-point shooting percentage of 37.2% ( 145 of 54 ) and a free throw percentage of 94.9% ( 37 of 39 ).

 

The 22- year-old Dwight Howard is the 11th overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft and played one season at the University of Michigan. During his college years, he was mentored by his father, former NBA player and Dallas Mavericks legend Juwan Howard , and was named to the All-Big Ten Third Team and the All-Freshman Team in his freshman season.
