Ashley Barnes and Burnley have renewed their contract, signing a new one-year deal.

Burnley have officially announced that they have extended the contract of veteran striker Ashley Barnes. The two sides signed a one-year deal, allowing the experienced striker to continue playing for the club. After his playing career ends, Ashley Barnes will remain with the club to begin his coaching career. A key player for the club, he helped Burnley achieve promotion four times, leaving a significant mark on the club's history.  

As agreed by both parties, Ashley Barnes will continue to wear the Burnley jersey for the 2026/27 season in the Championship. This will be his last season representing Burnley as a professional player. After the season ends, the veteran will officially retire as a player and join the club's coaching staff, beginning a new phase of his professional career.  

Ashley Barnes, 36, has played for Burnley twice in his career, making over 300 appearances for the team. Besides his consistent contributions up front, he is also a key figure in the team's dressing room, playing a crucial role both on and off the pitch thanks to his extensive experience and leadership.  

In the 2026/27 season, Ashley Barnes will remain with Burnley under Nicky Hayen, competing in the Championship and contributing his extensive experience to the team.
