Roma announced on their official website on Friday that they have signed Argentina U21s international forward wonderkid Santiago Castro from Bologna.

According to Roma's official statement, Castro has signed on a long-term five-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2031. He will also wear the number 9 jersey.

About Santiago Castro

Santiago Castro, who is only still 21 years old, was born on September 18, 2004, in San Martín, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is 1.82 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a left or right winger. He holds dual Argentine and Italian citizenship.

Castro joined the youth academy of Vélez Sarsfield at the age of seven and made his first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in August 2021.

On the 2024 winter transfer window deadline day, Castro joined Bologna for €12 million.

During his two-and-a-half-year spell with I Veltri, Castro made 105 appearances for the Serie A club in all competitions, scoring 22 goals and providing 13 assists. During which he helped the team win the Coppa Italia once and reach the UEFA Europa League quarterfinals once.
