Antonio Silva officially joins Bournemouth, beginning a new chapter in his professional career.

Bournemouth have officially announced the signing of Portuguese international centre-back Antonio Silva. The 22-year-old defender, who previously played for Benfica, has steadily developed into a key member of the team's defense, earning recognition as one of Europe's most promising young centre-backs thanks to his outstanding ability and extensive experience in high-level matches.  

Antonio Silva came through Benfica's youth academy and developed his skills in the first team. During his time with the club, he made 235 appearances in official matches, helping the team win numerous domestic honors and gaining valuable experience in major European competitions.  

Although only 22 years old, Antonio Silva has already accumulated a wealth of experience on the international stage. To date, he has made 20 appearances for the Portuguese national team, participating in major competitions such as the 2022 World Cup, the European Championship, and the UEFA Nations League. During his time with Benfica and the national team, he won six major titles and was named the best defender in the 2022/23 Portuguese league season for his outstanding performance.  

With the official signing of Antonio Silva, he becomes the latest member of manager Marco Rose's squad-strengthening plans this summer, further enhancing the team's defensive depth and providing more security for the 2026/27 season. Speaking about the signing, Bournemouth's Director of Football, Thiago Pinto, said: "Antonio Silva has always been a key target for us, and we are very pleased to have completed this signing and welcome him to Bournemouth."
