Ipswich Town have officially announced the signing of Burnley midfielder Florentino Pérez on a five-year contract.

Ipswich Town announced on Tuesday that Angolan midfielder Florentino Luiz has officially joined the club from Burnley. The two sides signed a five-year contract, valid until June 30, 2031.

According to TA chief reporter David Ornstein, Florentino Pérez's transfer fee is £16 million plus £3 million in add-ons. Although Hull City and Fulham were both initially interested in Pérez, Ipswich Town ultimately won the race with a more attractive offer.

The 26-year-old Florentino Pérez came through Benfica's youth academy and spent his early career on loan at Monaco and Getafe. During his time at Benfica, he made 183 appearances in all competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 5 assists, winning 2 Portuguese league titles, 1 Portuguese League Cup, and 3 Portuguese Super Cups with the team.

In September 2025, Florentino Pérez joined Burnley on loan with a mandatory buy option. To date, he has made 33 appearances for Burnley and provided 2 assists.
