Mehmeddu Kanté stated that he is gradually adapting to the intensity of first-team matches and will continue to work hard to improve his personal abilities.

West Ham United's young midfielder Kante says he is ready to take on more responsibility and contribute to the team's campaign to return to the Premier League, following the team's 3-1 victory over Portsmouth in the first round of the English League Cup.  

After several appearances during the preseason, 20-year-old Mehmedou Kanté made his third first-team start against Portsmouth. Responding to the manager's trust, the young midfielder delivered a satisfactory performance, contributing his first assist of his West Ham United first-team career.  

After the match, Kanté Mohammedu spoke about his first assist, saying that the successful combination was the result of long-term training and repeated practice, and he was very happy to be able to translate the training content into actual performance in the official game. He said, "I am really happy to have delivered my first assist for the team today. We will continue to work hard and keep moving forward."  

"This is an offensive combination that we've practiced repeatedly in training, so I'm really happy that we were able to execute it successfully in the official match. Overall, I think the team played quite well today. Everyone is satisfied with the result, and starting the new season with such a performance is undoubtedly a very positive start."

West Ham United will next face Burnley in their first Championship match of the new season on Sunday. Mehmedou Kanté hopes the team can continue their positive form following their victory over Portsmouth and start the league campaign with a strong performance. He said, "I'm very happy to be a part of this team. We're in good form overall right now, and the teammates are getting to know each other better. I hope this momentum continues."
