French support player Stend formerly of the Spanish League of Legends esports club Heretics, has announced his retirement on Thursday via his official X (Twitter) account.
In his official statement, Stend wrote: "Hi everyone, it's me again. You might not have expected me to announce this right after my last tweet, but after careful consideration, I have officially decided to retire."
"I've been playing esports full-time for seven years, and my feelings for the game have changed. I know I could continue, but if I feel I can't give my all to achieve my dreams, then there's no point in continuing."
"I am incredibly grateful for this life. It has been a challenging journey, with many ups and downs, and it is these experiences that have made me who I am today. I will always be grateful for everything I've been through." "And to everyone I've met along the way, please forgive me for not being able to personally mark each and every one of your names."
"I also want to thank all the teams and clubs that trusted me and gave me the opportunity to represent them."
"I remain passionate about e-sports, so I will continue down another path. I'm happy to take on opportunities in team management, whether in League of Legends or other games, while also continuing my studies."
"Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years. I'll always be here. Love you all, Stend."
This statement marks the official end of Stend's seven-year professional League of Legends e-sports player career.
Stend, 25, began his professional League of Legends e-sports career in 2019, primarily playing support.
Early in his career, Stend played for the GamersOrigin academy, Tony Parker Adequat academy, Oplon, Giants, Dusty, and Vitality.Bee, leaving a significant mark on tournaments such as the LFL, LVP, EMEA Masters, French Open, and French Cup.
In early December 2024, Stend joined Heretics.
During his two-year spell with Heretics, Stend helped the team achieve multiple top-8 finishes in the LEC. However, after being eliminated in the quarterfinals of the LEC Versus by GIANTX, he was benched in March 2026.
After leaving Heretics, Stend joined Misa.
During this time, he helped the team win the TCL Spring Split Championship.
In late May 2026, Stend joined Shifters.
However, the team performed poorly in the LEC Summer Split Bo5 series, managing only one win, sealing Stend's fate and ending his professional career in a disappointing fashion.
