Zinedine Zidane enjoys coaching the French national team: What makes me happiest is fighting alongside the players.

France will host Belgium at the Stade de France in the fourth round of Group A of the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League. French coach Zinedine Zidane stated that he thoroughly enjoys coaching "Les Bleus" and is happy to work alongside his players.

In the third round of the group stage, France took the lead thanks to a goal from Olise, but then conceded a goal and Upamecano was shown a red card, ultimately being held to a 1-1 draw by Italy.

With Mbappe leaving training camp early due to injury, Zidane will face some challenges in tactical arrangements. Zidane stated, "The lineup will definitely be adjusted. This is our fourth game, and we can't make decisions arbitrarily. We will make reasonable rotations, and most importantly, we do this to ensure the team remains competitive."

"This is to show everyone that we are all involved, that all the players are giving their all for the team, and also to demonstrate that there is very intense competition within the national team."

Zidane continued, "I've always felt the pressure of coaching the national team, and I really enjoy it. I like the tension and I enjoy the feeling. But what makes me happiest is fighting alongside the players; that's what I truly love."

"The requirement to win or lose has not changed, but the way the national team works is different from that of the club. I used to enjoy working with the team every day, and now I have a different role, but my idea of maintaining a good understanding and harmonious working relationship with the team has never changed."

Zidane said, "It was great to spend 15 days with the players, and I even feel a little sad thinking that this period is coming to an end. However, we still need to make one last effort and hope to end this training camp with a satisfied feeling."

In addition, in the first round of the group stage, France defeated Van Bommel's team 1-0 after Olise scored.

Zidane pointed out, "They played exceptionally well against us and caused us a lot of tactical difficulties. They also gave Turkey a lot of trouble in our previous match, so they are very strong in terms of both overall strength and individual ability."
