Emy Buendia hopes the team can win the Champions League match and spend a special night with the fans.

Aston Villa midfielder Emmy Buendia is looking forward to experiencing the unique atmosphere of a European match night at Villa Park once again. The team is currently preparing for their match against Fenerbahce. Unai Emery will lead Villa at home against the Turkish powerhouse, marking the team's first home Champions League game of the season.

With European competitions returning to Villa Park, Emmy Buendía hopes to build on his experience from the 2024/25 season to create a memorable night for the fans. In an interview with Aston Villa TV, he said: “I think this is the highest level of competition the club can participate in. Now we are back at Villa Park, and our experience from two years ago has given us invaluable lessons.”

"Last season, we worked hard to return to European competitions, and this is a special gift for our fans and supporters. I hope everyone can have an unforgettable night and enjoy this moment."

Compared to the last time the stadium hosted a European competition, Villa Park has undergone some changes in its facilities. Emmy Buendía also discussed the difficulties the team faced playing against their opponents with only three stands open.

However, the 29-year-old also expressed his appreciation for the continued enthusiasm of the Holt Stand and the fans. He believes that the fans' support will motivate him and his teammates to give their all on match day and strive for the desired results. He added, "Of course, things have changed a lot now, because in the past we always felt the support from the fans. However, this is also part of the club's continued development and progress."

“This will propel the club to a higher level, so we need to adapt to the new situation as quickly as possible. However, we know that other fans will continue to support the team as always. The supporters in the Holt Stand have always been there to cheer us on. We also thank the other fans for their continued support, because everyone is part of the Aston Villa family.”
