After Barcelona's 4-1 comeback victory against Galatasaray, securing their tenth consecutive win in all competitions, head coach Hansi Flick poured cold water on the team's fervor at the post-match press conference, warning the players that football is a constantly changing game and the real title battle is far from over.
When asked whether Barcelona is now unstoppable, Flick calmly responded: "The world of football changes very quickly. We are proud of our current situation and full of confidence, but this is not just confidence, but also a firm belief in the team's playing philosophy."
"However, our ambitions go far beyond that; we yearn to win the championship trophy. But you can't win anything in October; those major honors won't be revealed until May and June. We train hard every day for that moment."
Despite losing Lewandowski and Ferran Torres in the summer and failing to add a starting center forward, Barcelona still displayed amazing attacking firepower at the start of the season, which Flick was not surprised by: "Seeing the level the players showed in training, that's the really important cornerstone. I'm not surprised at all."
“I have 100% faith in this team, and they control the game exceptionally well. We had some flaws in the first half in transitions and the final pass, but after a few adjustments at halftime, the team’s performance in the second half was incredible.”
Speaking of young star Ramin Yamar, who was named Man of the Match, Flick was full of praise: "Ramin's performance in the second half was dominant. It's great to have a player like him who can change the course of a game. The breakthroughs and passes he made in the game were just like what he shows in training, which was incredible."
Flick's caution is not unfounded. In the coming week, Barcelona will face Real Betis, Paris Saint-Germain, and their first El Clásico of the season against Real Madrid, putting their winning streak to a true test in these tough matches.
