Brentford triggered  Rico Henry, Josh Dasilva and Mathias Jensen's contract extensions..

Brentford announced on their official website on Monday that they have triggered contract extensions of defender Rico Henry, as well as defensive midfielders Josh Dasilva and Mathias Jensen.


According to Brentford's official statement, all three players' contracts have been automatically extended for one year, with their new contracts expiring in the summer of 2027.


About Rico Henry


The 28-year-old Rico Henry was born on July 8, 1997, in Birmingham, England. He is 1.7 meters tall and primarily plays as a left-back but can also play as a left midfielder. He holds dual British and Jamaican citizenship.


Henry joined Walsall's youth academy at the age of 11 and completed his Walsall first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a EFL Trophy match in December 2014.


On the 2016 summer transfer window deadline day, Henry joined Brentford for £1.5 million.


Since joining the Bees, Henry has so far made 239 appearances for Brentford in all competitions, scoring 5 goals and providing 12 assists.


About Josh Dasilva


The 27-year-old Josh Dasilva was born on October 23, 1998, in Ilford, England. He is 1.84 meters tall and primarily plays as a defensive midfielder but can also play as a left-back. He holds dual English and Angolan citizenship.


Dasilva joined Arsenal's youth academy at the age of 8 and completed his Arsenal first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a Carabao Cup match in September 2017.


After his contract expired the following summer, Dasilva joined Brentford on a free transfer.


Since joining the Bees, Dasilva has so far made 159 appearances for Brentford in all competitions, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists.


About Mathias Jensen


The 30-year-old Mathias Jensen was born on January 1, 1996, in Jerslev, Denmark. He is 1.80 meters tall and plays as a defensive midfielder.


Jensen joined Nordsjælland's youth academy in 2011 and completed his Nordsjælland first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in September 2015.


His early talent quickly earned him the Danish Football Association's 2017 Danish Young Player of the Year award, and he also won the Nordsjælland Player of the Year award that same year, as well as becoming the club's youngest captain in history.


In August 2018, Jensen joined Celta Vigo for €5 million. However, plagued by injuries, he only made six appearances for the club throughout the season.


The following July, Jensen joined Brentford for £3.5 million.


Since joining the Bees, Jensen has so far made 275 appearances for the Premier League dark horses in all competitions, scoring 17 goals and providing 32 assists, as well as winning the EFL Championship play-off title once.
