Vitaly Mikorenko has signed a contract extension with Everton, extending his contract until 2029.

Vitaly Mykolenko has signed a new three-year contract with Everton, extending his stay until the end of June 2029. The 27-year-old left-back joined the team from Dynamo Kyiv in January 2022 and has since developed into a key player in the defense, making 157 appearances for Everton to date.  

After completing the contract extension, Vitaly Mykolenko said in an interview with the club: "I am very happy and proud to sign this new contract. I still remember the first message I received when I joined in 2022 was from Coleman. After reading it, I was very grateful for his welcome, and it was at that moment that I immediately felt that I had joined a real family."  

“In the first few years after I joined the team, we did go through a difficult period, but we always worked together as a whole, as a family, and everyone gave their all to overcome the challenges. We are stronger now and continue to improve every season. For me, the most important thing is to feel confident and comfortable in an environment, and that’s exactly what I’m here for, so I’m very happy.”  

Vitaly Mykolenko has repeatedly proven his defensive prowess against top wingers in the Premier League. He has scored four goals so far, with his most impressive goal coming in May 2022 against Leicester City, which was voted Goal of the Season.  

When discussing future goals, Vitaly Mykolenko said, "Since Coach David Moyes took over, I think the team has been making continuous progress. He is a very good person, which is very important to me. He has also given me more freedom in terms of tactical arrangements."  

“This journey has been positive for me, and we are now moving step by step toward a higher league ranking. Our goal for next season is to achieve even better results. I prefer to set realistic goals, such as winning trophies, or even European honors, just like other teams have done in recent years.”  

“From a personal point of view, I hope to get playing time in every game and maintain a consistent performance, just like James Garner has shown this season. He is a great role model; he plays exceptionally well and consistently, and I hope to reach that level as well.”
