Alavés completes contract extension with Uruguayan defensive midfielder Carlos Protesoni..

Alavés announced on their official website on Wednesday that they have extended the contract of its Uruguayan defensive midfielder Carlos Protesoni.

According to Alavés' official statement, Protesoni has signed on a new short-term two-year deal with thw club which will only run until the summer of 2028.

About Carlos Protesoni

The 28-year-old Carlos Protesoni was born on March 30, 1998, in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. He is 1.85 meters tall and primarily plays as a defensive midfielder, but can also play as a center-back. He holds dual Uruguayan and Italian citizenship.

Protesoni joined Defensor Sporting's youth academy in 2011 and completed his Defensor Sporting first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in April 2016.

In July 2018, Protesoni moved to Independiente for €2 million.

During his four-years with Independiente, Protesoni won the Suruga Bank Cup once.

After his contract expired in the summer of 2022, Protesoni joined Alavés as a free agent.

Since joining Alavés, Protesoni has so far made 105 appearances for the La Liga club in all competitions, scoring 6 goals and providing 2 assists.
