Werder Bremen officially announced the signing of striker Cedric Itten, and the player has officially joined the team.

Werder Bremen have officially confirmed the signing of Swiss striker Cédric Itten. The 29-year-old, who previously played for Fortuna Düsseldorf, completed the transfer as a free agent. The announcement was made on Sunday by Peter Niemeyer, head of the club's professional football department.  

Peter Niemeyer stated, "Cedric Itten perfectly fits the club's transfer needs. At 29 years old, with a wealth of professional experience, he has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in his previous clubs and with the Swiss national team. We believe he can use this experience to make a significant contribution to the team."  

Regarding Iten's signing, head coach Daniel Tiune said: "I worked with Cedric in Düsseldorf, so I know his strengths very well. He has outstanding physical attributes, can play an important role in the penalty area, and has good back-to-goal and finishing abilities. His arrival will further enhance the diversity of the team's attacking options."  

After joining the club, Cedric Itten said: "Werder Bremen is a club with a rich history. My communication with the club's management went very smoothly, and my communication with the head coach was also very amicable, as we already had a working relationship. After these exchanges, I quickly made the decision to join."

Cédric Itten, 29, developed through Basel's youth academy and subsequently played for clubs including Luzern, St. Gallen, Rangers, Greuther Fürth, and Young Boys before moving to Fortuna Düsseldorf. Last season, he made 32 appearances and scored 16 goals. He also made 16 appearances for the Swiss national team, scoring 5 goals.
