Lazio announced on their official website on Friday that Villarreal's Spanish defender Alfonso Pedraza has joined the club on a free transfer.
According to the Serie A club's official statement, Pedraza has signed on a three-year contract with the club which runs until the summer of 2029.
About Alfonso Pedraza
The 30-year-old Alfonso Pedraza was born on April 9, 1996, in Spain. He is from San Sebastián de los Ballesteros, in the province of Córdoba, Andalusia. He is 1.84 meters tall and primarily plays as a left-back, but can also play as a left winger.
Pedraza played for the youth academy of non-league club Seneca as a child. He joined Villarreal's youth academy in 2011 and completed his Villarreal first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a match against Valencia on April 2015.
Over the next two years, Pedraza played on-loan at Lugo, Leeds United, and Alavés.
Upon returning to Villarreal in the summer of 2018, he became a regular starter for the first-team.
The following summer, Pedraza joined Real Betis on-loan.
Upon returning in the summer of 2020, he again became a key player for Villarreal's first team.
During his eight-year spell with El Submarino Amarillo, Pedraza made 235 appearances for the La Liga club in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing 29 assists, and winning one UEFA Europa League title with the team.
