Danish international Morten Jørmann has officially joined Atlético Madrid, signing a contract until 2031.

Atletico Madrid announced on Saturday that Danish defensive midfielder Morten Jürmann has joined from Sporting Lisbon. The two sides have signed a five-year contract, valid until June 30, 2031.

According to multiple sources, Jullmann's transfer fee was €40 million plus €5 million in add-ons. After the new contract takes effect, his annual salary will increase from €2 million to €6 million.

This signing also makes Jullmann the fourth Danish player in Atlético Madrid's history. Next season, he will play alongside Koke, Pablo Barrios, and Johanne Cardoso, providing new options for Diego Simeone's midfield system.

The 27-year-old Jullmann came through the Copenhagen youth academy and spent early in his professional career training at Admira and Lecce. In his second season at Lecce, he got his first chance to play in one of Europe's top five leagues, making 35 appearances and providing 2 assists.

In August 2023, Jullmann joined Sporting CP from Lecce for €19.5 million. To date, he has made 141 appearances for Sporting CP, scoring 10 goals and providing 12 assists, winning two Portuguese league titles and one Portuguese Cup with the team.

Thanks to his consistent performances at the club level, Jullmann has represented Denmark on the international stage since September 2023. He has made 27 appearances for the Danish national team to date and participated in the 2024 European Championship.
