July 23rd news, The San Antonio Spurs officially announced that guard David Jones - Garcia has signed a two-way contract extension with the team.
Garcia earned a two-way contract with the Spurs based on his outstanding performances in the California Classic and the NBA Summer League. Before joining the Spurs, he had already proven his scoring ability in the G League, and during the Summer League, he further demonstrated his defensive intensity, ball-handling skills, and ability to create opportunities for his teammates.
Last season, Garcia only played 11 games for the Spurs' first team. However, while playing for the Austin Spurs in the G League, he averaged 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. His season was cut short due to a serious ankle injury, for which he underwent surgery.
With the new season approaching, the Spurs have secured three two-way contract slots, including Jones Garcia , 2026 second-round pick Jacobi Gillespie , and Malik Brown .
