Rob Edwards admitted that he hopes to expedite player recruitment and build a team that fans can be proud of.

Following their away draw against Burnley in the final round of the 2025/26 Premier League season, Wolves manager Rob Edwards expressed his desire to rebuild the team this summer, creating a squad that fans can once again be proud of. The match featured a clear difference between the first and second halves; Wolves dominated the first half, but Burnley launched a comeback in the second, ultimately leading to Wolves finishing bottom of the league.

Rob Edwards expressed regret that his team failed to extend their lead when they had the upper hand. However, he has now turned his attention entirely to the future, hoping the team can further improve their strength before heading into the Championship and return to the Premier League as soon as possible. He said: "We were very threatening in attack in the first half, and we got off to a good start. We had chances to score one or two more goals, and the opposing goalkeeper made several excellent saves, which we failed to capitalize on."

“It was a shame we couldn’t take a two or three-goal lead by halftime. We started the second half very poorly, and the game then turned into a back-and-forth game like basketball, with Sá making a few crucial saves. I still think we were always a threat and were trying to win. But it was really disappointing to let the opponent get back into the game that way, especially at the start of the second half.”

Rob Edwards continued, “The support from the fans after the game was incredibly touching. I told the players that the fans are still willing to stand with us, and we want to build a team that they can be proud of, and rebuild the real connection between us, both at home and away.”

“It depends on our investment and the players’ performance on the field. I want to thank them. I understand the disappointment and pain they have experienced this season, and I know it hasn’t been easy. But I hope we can move forward and that everyone can start to look forward to the future. Andre’s staying has been officially announced, which I think is very positive news for the club, and I look forward to more good news in the coming weeks.”

"We hope to expedite the player recruitment process and rebuild a completely new lineup, making the team both entertaining and competitive. Our overall performance this year has clearly been insufficient. It has been a difficult season, and we thank the fans for their support. Now we should focus on the future."
