Bristol City have officially announced the signing of Laurent Torray on a four-year contract.

Bristol City have officially announced the signing of Swiss striker Llorente Torraj. The two sides have finalized the signing on a four-year contract; details of the transfer fee have not yet been disclosed. The Swiss striker will wear the number 9 jersey next season.

Laurent Torray, 24, impressed for Plymouth last season, scoring 21 goals in all competitions, 17 of which came in the league, demonstrating his consistent scoring ability. With his arrival, Bristol City complete their seventh first-team signing of the summer.

Thanks to his outstanding performance last season, Llorente Tolai was sought after by several clubs in this summer's transfer market, ultimately deciding to join Bristol City. After completing the signing, the Swiss striker couldn't hide his joy, saying, "I'm really happy to be here. When Bristol City contacted my agent, I hoped the transfer could be finalized as soon as possible."

“This is a club with a long history and a large fan base. I discussed the team’s future development with the head coach, which further solidified my decision to join. I have always wanted to challenge myself to achieve higher goals, and the club is equally ambitious, which aligns perfectly with my own ideas. I will do my best to contribute everything I have to the team.”

Laurent Torraj has steadily risen through the ranks of English football in recent years, continuously taking his career to new heights. In 2024, he was still playing for Aldershot in the National League, before his outstanding performance at Port Vale earned him a chance to join Plymouth, and eventually Bristol City.

Speaking about the signing, Bristol City manager Michael Skubala said: "We are delighted to welcome Laurent Tolay. He will strengthen the team's attacking line physically and increase the overall intensity of the game. His growth over the past few seasons has been remarkable, showcasing not only his talent but also his professionalism. We believe he will bring more diverse attacking options to the team and continue to succeed here."

Speaking about the signing, Bristol City sporting director James Ellis said: "We have always believed that the team needs to further strengthen its attack and increase the squad depth in that position. Our goal is to enhance our ability to create chances and finish, but the current transfer market is very competitive, and it is not easy to make signings."

“We are delighted to have signed a player like Llorente Torray. He not only enhances the team but also possesses a strong desire to win and a constantly evolving professional attitude. The timing of this transfer is highly beneficial for both sides, allowing him ample time to familiarize himself with the team and integrate into the tactical system. The entire squad looks forward to playing alongside him. We also want to thank Plymouth Arsenal for their positive cooperation throughout the transfer process, which facilitated the smooth completion of this deal.”
