We must take good care of the players' health. De la Fuente: We will field the lineup best suited for this match.

The third round of Group C matches in the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League will take place, with Spain hosting the Czech Republic. De la Fuente stated that given the tournament's packed schedule, the team must prioritize player fitness, but will field the best possible lineup for this match.

After Yamal's brace, along with goals from Mark Puvilli and Nico Williams, Spain defeated Croatia 4-1 in the earlier group stage match, and topped Group C with two consecutive wins.

Spain coach De la Fuente stated, "The disadvantage of this format is that players have almost no time to recover. We must prioritize the players' health, and we want them to be in peak physical condition. We will field the best lineup for this match; we already have a general plan in mind, but we will make final adjustments."

“Yamal is very important no matter what stage of the game we are in. He can come on from the start, or he can come on in the 60th minute or the 45th minute. Excluding him from the starting lineup will not actually make things any better or worse.”

In addition, De la Fuente said, "When we talk about rotation, we are actually choosing the players who are best suited for the game, for all positions, and any position can change."
