The Czech national team concluded their UEFA Nations League campaign this autumn with an away defeat to England. They remain without a point in Nations League A. After the match, midfielder Michal Sadilek offered no excuses for the loss, stating bluntly that it was the team's worst performance in the four games they had played over the past two weeks.
After the match, Michal Sadilek said: "This was our worst performance in these four games. I think the team's performance in the early stages was not bad, but England was very well prepared and they knew exactly how to organize their attacks. Unfortunately, we made our own mistakes, which led to the opponent scoring the first goal. After that, their superior strength gradually became apparent."
"England showed outstanding strength. It was clear from the game that they had developed a great understanding with each other, their attacking combinations were very smooth, and the players knew each other very well. At the same time, the defenders were also actively involved in the attack and provided support, while we did not handle some situations in the penalty area very well in defense."
"This is the highest level of competition. Against such an opponent, we must minimize our mistakes in order to gain anything from the game. Unfortunately, we did not do that today."
The Czech team played four matches in 11 days under the new schedule. However, the Slavia Prague midfielder did not attribute the defeat at Wembley to fatigue. He said, "It was indeed a very tough schedule, but England faced the same situation, so I won't blame the loss on fatigue. Before the match, everyone was fully prepared and hoped to achieve the best result, but unfortunately, we didn't."
