Panathinaikos completes the signing of Barcelona goalkeeper Iñaki Peña..


Panathinaikos announced on its official website on Wednesday that they have signed Spanish goalkeeper Iñaki Peña from Barcelona.


According to an official statement from Panathinaikos, Peña has signed on a three-year contract with the club which runs until the summer of 2029.


In addition, according to a report brought by Spanish online media outlet Relevo's resident renowned transfer journalist Matteo Moretto, the Greek Super League giants paid Barcelona a transfer fee of €3 million to sign Peña.


About Iñaki Peña


The 27-year-old Iñaki Peña was born in Alicante, Spain on March 24, 1999. He is 1.84 meters tall and serves as a goalkeeper.


Peña joined the youth academy of his hometown club Alicante when he was 5 years old, moved to the Villarreal youth academy when he was 10 years old, and then joined the Barcelona's renowned La Masia youth academy when he was 13 years old.


Peña started playing for Barcelona B team in August 2018 and became the B team's main goalkeeper.


At the end of January 2022, Peña briefly played for Galatasaray on-loan and performed well during the spell.


After returning to the club at the following his loan spell in the summer of 2022, Peña was officially promoted to the first team and completed his Barcelona first-team debut in the final round of the Champions League group stage match against Viktoria Plzen in November of the same year.


During his three-year spell at Barcelona, Peña won the La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de España twice each with the club.


In August 2025, Peña joined Elche on-loan.


During his loan spell at Elche, Peña played 16 times in all competitions for the La Liga club, conceding 28 goals and keeping 4 clean sheets, helping the club successfully avoid relegation.
