Co-hosts, Canada lost to Morocco with an embarrassing 0-3 defeat in the Round of 16s of the 2026 FIFA United States, Canada and Mexico match at the NRG Stadium in Houston on Saturday and missed the chance to advance to the quarterfinals.

In the first half, both Canadian forwards' shots were saved. In the second half, Ounahi scored twice, while Rahimi's header unfortunately hit the crossbar. At the critical moment, Rahimi volleyed into the net. In the end, Morocco thrashed Canada 0-3. In the quarterfinals, the Atlas Lions will face France.

In the 6th minute, Ali Ahmed crossed into the box from the left wing. Luc de Fougerolles headed the across. Second Half

Both team switched sides as the match continued. In the 50th minute, Morocco got a deadly free kick opportunity. Achraf Hakimi took the free kick and played a tactical free kick from outside the penalty area. After receiving the pass, Azzedine Ounahi took a long shot with his right foot from just outside of the penalty area. His shot flew straight into the bottom right corner of the net, leaving Maxime Crépeau beyond reach. Morocco broke the deadlock first to take a 0-1 lead!

In the 79th minute, Jacob Shaffelburg played a long pass from the left wing. Tajon Buchanan got the ball and took a few steps before taking a right-footed long shot from outside the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Bounou.

3 minutes later, Brahim Díaz passes horizontally from the right side of the box. Upon receiving the pass, Ounahi volleyed the ball into the upper right corner of the net with his right foot from the center of the box to score his second gol of the match. Morocco expanded its lead to 0-2! This the Girona midfielder's 11th national team goal!

In the 85th minute, Ounahi crossed into the box from the right wing, where Soufiane Rahimi quickly followed up and attempted with a header in the box. However, his effort unfortunately hit the underside of the crossbar and bounced off the goal line! Morocco missed a golden opportunity to further extend their lead!

In the 8th minute of injury time, Díaz passes horizontally from the attacking third. Rahimi quickly follwed up, got the ball and took a few steps before volleying the ball into the bottom right corner of the empty net with his left foot from the left side of the box. Morocco secured the victory at 0-3!

When the final whistle is blown, Canada comprehensively lost 0-3 to Morocco.
