Xabi Alonso: Chelsea is a great club, and it is an immense honor for me to manage this team.

Xabi Alonso, who officially took over at the Cobham training ground earlier this month, recently made his first media appearance as Chelsea's manager. Facing the attention from the outside world, the Spanish coach consistently expressed his enthusiasm for the new challenge. Throughout the press conference, he responded to several topics, but his most prominent stance remained unchanged: he feels honored to be in charge of Chelsea and looks forward to leading the team into a new chapter as soon as possible.  

When asked his first question by the media, Xabi Alonso said, "First of all, thank you very much for the welcome. I am very excited to be here. The reason is not complicated: Chelsea is a great club, and I cherish the opportunity to manage such a team. This is also an important reason why I am full of expectations for the future."  

“I want to truly integrate into this club and work alongside the sporting director, all the players, and the staff at the Cobham training ground. Our goal is to infuse the team with passion, further connect with the fans, and achieve success through more victories. I believe Chelsea has tremendous potential for growth. The club has already built a solid foundation, and what we need to do is build upon that foundation and ensure the team always has the ability to compete for honors.”  

For Xabi Alonso, the Premier League is no unfamiliar stage. As a player, he spent a long time wearing the Liverpool jersey in England. However, his role has now changed. As Chelsea's manager, he has devoted all his energy to building the team, hoping to lead Chelsea to a new chapter of success at Stamford Bridge.  

Returning to English football and stepping back onto the Premier League pitch has always been Xabi Alonso's goal. Now managing Chelsea, he admits it's an unparalleled honor. Alonso said, "The Premier League is undoubtedly the most competitive league in world football today. For me, returning here to manage means both a new beginning and a major test in my career. I look forward to it all and hope to grow with the team and improve through continuous learning."
