Liverpool winger Ngomoha said in an interview that he is grateful to his senior teammates for considering him a part of the team and looks forward to getting more playing time in the new season.
In the 2025/26 season, Ngumoha, a product of Liverpool's youth academy, made 19 appearances for the "Reds" in the Premier League, contributing two goals and one assist.
It is worth mentioning that Ngumoha was called up to the England national team in June and made his senior team debut in a friendly match. He was also arranged to train with the World Cup squad.
17-year-old Ngomoha said, "After finishing training with the England national team, I went back to London and had a holiday with my family and friends, so everything was great."
“Before the last game of last season, the FA technical director sent me a text message informing me that I would be going to the national team training camp. When I got there, I met everyone, the training intensity was very high, and I later got the opportunity to play, which is an experience I will never forget.”
Ngumoha shared, "I know I don't have any pressure, so all I need to do is step onto the pitch, show my best, and enjoy the game."
Reflecting on last season, Ngumoha said, "Throughout the season, all my teammates have given me a lot of help. At the beginning, they saw me more as a promising young player. But now, I feel that they truly consider me part of the team."
“Although they still know I’m young and will help me like they would a young player, at the same time they also treat me as a true teammate. From the team’s perspective, last season’s performance was not ideal, but for me personally, I gained a lot of experience and learned a lot.”
With the new season just around the corner, new manager Andoni Iraola has already led Liverpool into training, and players such as Gakopo, Van Dijk, and Alisson will gradually return to the team.
When discussing his goals for the new season, Ngumoha said, "I hope to help the team with more goals and assists, and I also need to continue to improve defensively. Whether it's attack or defense, there's still room for improvement. I also hope to gradually become a starter. Even if I come off the bench, I hope to make a difference, after all, we have many excellent players, and everyone is competing. However, it's a healthy competition."
“I think a player who can create threats on both sides makes himself more unpredictable. Everyone knows I can play on the left, but I feel I’ve been improving on the right as well. So, I hope to contribute to the team in the new season whether I’m on the left or the right.”
