Chelsea have officially announced the signing of Danny Welbeck, with both parties agreeing to a contract until 2028.

Chelsea have officially announced the signing of England striker Danny Welbeck. The experienced Brighton attacker has reached a long-term agreement with the Blues, running until 2028. Welbeck will immediately join the team's pre-season preparations, working alongside his teammates to prepare for the new season.  

Danny Welbeck said after joining the club: "I was very honored when I learned that Chelsea wanted to sign me. Chelsea is a great club with a glorious tradition. They always aim to win championships and constantly strive for greater achievements. It is a huge honor for me to be a part of the team at such an exciting stage."

The 35-year-old Danny Welbeck has accumulated a wealth of top-level experience throughout his career. He has made 400 appearances in the Premier League, participated in the Champions League, and represented England in two World Cups. His years of high-level experience will further strengthen Chelsea's attacking options.  

Danny Welbeck's professional career began in Manchester United's youth academy. Under Sir Alex Ferguson, he gradually developed into a key member of the first team, winning the Premier League title, two League Cups, the Community Shield, and the 2008 Club World Cup. In September 2014, Welbeck transferred to Arsenal, where he made 126 appearances and scored 32 goals in five seasons, helping the Gunners win the FA Cup and the Community Shield.  

After leaving Arsenal, Danny Welbeck played for Watford and Brighton. During his time at Brighton, he maintained a consistent level of performance, making over 200 appearances for the team and contributing 26 goals in the last two Premier League seasons, consistently demonstrating his efficient scoring ability and rich match experience.  

Danny Welbeck said, “I’ve always been surrounded by successful players and great people growing up. They’ve taught me a lot. I pay attention to how they prepare before and after training, including how they recover, how they manage their rest, and how they maintain a good diet. These seemingly small things ultimately affect a player’s development.”  

"I firmly believe that success comes from consistent attention to detail day after day. When you do every little thing well, it will bring about tremendous changes over time. I will not lower my standards for myself, but will continue to maintain high standards and strive to do better."

On the national team front, Danny Welbeck also boasts an impressive resume. He has made 42 appearances for England, contributing 16 goals, and has a long history of playing in England's major competitions. He also played a crucial role in the team during Euro 2012. Now, with Danny Welbeck joining Chelsea, he will bring more experience and stability to the team's attack, starting a new phase of his career at Stamford Bridge and helping Chelsea challenge for higher goals.
