Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jörgensen officially joins sister club Strasbourg on-loan..

Strasbourg announced on their official website on Wednesday that Denmark international goalkeeper Filip Jörgensen has joined the club on-loan from sister club Chelsea.

According to the Ligue 1 club's official statement, Jörgensen will play for the club on-loan until the end of the new season, and the loan agreement does not include a buy-out clause.

About Filip Jörgensen

The 24-year-old Filip Jörgensen was born on April 16, 2002, in Lomma, Sweden on April 16, 2002. He is 1.9 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper. He has dual Swedish and Danish citizenship.

Jörgensen played for the youth academy of his hometown club Lomma when he was a child, and also played for the youth academies of Santa Catalina, Malmö and Mallorca. In 2017, he joined the Villarreal youth academy, began playing for Villarreal's reserve team in 2020 and completed his Villarreal first-team debut in January 2023.

During his time at El Submarino Amarillo, Jörgensen helped the team reach the UEFA Europa League Round of 16s and set a La Liga record for the highest save success percentage in a single season.

In the summer of 2024, Jörgensen joined Chelsea for £20 million.

However, since joining, Jörgensen has been unhappy with successive managers Enzo Maresca, Liam Rosenior, and interim manager Callum McFarlane's the over-reliance on Robert Sánchez, and had been considering leaving since a year ago.

Since becoming a member of the Blues, Jörgensen has so far made 36 appearances for the Premier League giants in all competitions, conceding 39 goals and keeping 11 clean sheets, where he has helped the team win the UEFA Conference League once, the FIFA Club World Cup, and reached the FA Cup final once.
