Agent of American wonderkid Cavan Sullivan refute reports claiming that the player regretted agreeing to join Manchester City and is seeking a move to Barcelona as pure fabrication..

The agent of Philadelphia Union's American wonderkid Cavan Sullivan has officially refuted rumours on Thursday through The Athletic which claimed that the player regretted agreeing to join Manchester City and is seeking a move to Barcelona, saying that the reports were pure fabrication.

According to the report, the agent said that he had never given any interviews to any media outlets making such statements, and that the claims of "Sullivan regrets joining Manchester City and is seeking a move to Barcelona" was completely unfounded.

Furthermore, the agent confirmed that Sullivan is currently focused on helping Philadelphia Union, rather than being overly concerned about whether the charges against Manchester City for breaching 114 Premier League financial rules would affect his transfer plans, or his future situation at the Cityzens.

The Athletic's resident renowned American journalist Tom Bogart, added that any player attempting to reverse Sullivan's impending move to Manchester City would need to submit a new offer, have it accepted, reach personal terms with Sullivan, submit the relevant documents to FIFA, and obtain approval before the offer can take effect.

During this process, it's crucial to ensure that the Premier League giants, who recently embroiled in negative news, won't attempt to challenge the agreement's legality, it cannot be made effective simply by a claim of "regret."

Furthermore, Sullivan's future transfer to Manchester City was finalized when he was still 14 years old. His eventual transfer to the Cityzens upon turning 18 is legally binding. The Major League Soccer (MLS) club cannot arbitrarily cancel the transfer agreement based solely on one person's statement, thus avoiding unnecessary controversy.

Upon investigation, the rumour which alleged that Sullivan's agent claimed that "the player regrets agreeing to join Manchester City and will seek a transfer to Barcelona" originated from an article published on September 27th by Barcelona's mouthpiece, Diario Sport.

This fake news was quickly reposted by numerous aggregator accounts and low-quality media outlets worldwide specializing in publishing fake football transfer news, causing serious misinformation.
