Chivu hopes to build a lasting legacy at Inter Milan.

In an interview, Inter Milan coach Chivu discussed his goals for the team and expressed his hope to build a long and glorious legacy for the "Nerazzurri".

The 45-year-old Chivu was appointed Inter Milan's head coach in July 2025 and led the "Nerazzurri" to win the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia in the 2025/26 season.

In the interview, Kivu said, "I know where I am, I am clear about the responsibilities I bear, and I understand what it means to take on such a great responsibility."

“Most importantly, I know I have a responsibility to the players. I want to build something that can last a long time, something that will leave an important and glorious mark on the club’s history. Of course, I also have short-term goals to achieve, because I never set my sights too far ahead.”

It is worth mentioning that Chivu won the Champions League title while playing for Inter Milan during his professional career.

Kivu shared, “Winning the Champions League is a wonderful thing, and I think it’s everyone’s dream. It’s a very important competition, and everyone can really feel that. There’s a huge difference between the league and the Champions League, both in the group stage and in the round of 16. The motivation and goals for the two competitions are very different, both for individual players and for the whole team.”

"The Champions League is difficult because there is no formula that can guarantee victory. No amount of money can buy a Champions League trophy, and tactical concepts alone are not enough. Ultimately, it is the result of many factors."

Kiev also said, "As the season progresses, these factors will gradually accumulate, and around March, I think we will be able to truly see where we are. It is not difficult to predict who the favorites are based solely on their paper strength, but it is absolutely hard to say who will go all the way to the end and lift the trophy."

On the other hand, after this international break, Inter Milan will host Parma at the San Siro Stadium in the sixth round of this season's Serie A. Inter Milan currently sits in second place with 13 points, tied with first-placed Roma.
