Lecce completes contract extension with its captain Wladimiro Falcone..

Lecce announced on their official website on Wednesday that the club has extended the contract of its captain, Italian goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone.

According to Lecce's official statement, Falcone has signed on a new three-year deal which runs until the summer of 2029.

About Wladimiro Falcone

Wladimiro Falcone, 31, was born on April 12, 1995, in Rome, Italy. He is 1.95 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper.

Falcone played in the youth academies of several non-league clubs in Rome, before joining Sampdoria's youth academy in 2009 and began representing their reserve team in 2012.

Starting in the summer of 2014, Falcone was sent out on-loan to clubs such as Como, Savona, and Livorno. He returned to his parent club in the summer of 2019 and completed his Sampdoria first-team debut in July of the same year.

From August of the following year, he had loan spells with Lucchese and Cosenza.

In the summer of 2022, Falcone joined Lecce on-loan.

After helping the club successfully avoid relegation, Lecce exercised the buyout clause in his contract the following summer for a fee of €4 million.

Since joining Lecce, Falcone has so far made 162 appearances for the Serie A side across all competitions, conceding 224 goals and keeping 35 clean sheets.
