Borussia Mönchengladbach completes the signing of Darmstadt striker Isac Lidberg..

Borussia Mönchengladbach announced on their official website on Tuesday that they have signed Sweden international striker Isac Lidberg from Darmstadt.

According to Gladbach's official statement, Lidberg has signed on a long-term four-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030.

After completing his transfer procedures, Lidberg, who was interviewed by the Borussia Mönchengladbach official website, said: "When I first heard that Borussia was interested in me, I was immediately excited. It's a big club with a glorious history."

"I've followed the Bundesliga since I was a child, so I've always watched this team play; I especially remember players like Oscar Went and Juan Arango. Therefore, I decided to join almost effortlessly. I quickly realized I wanted to take this step. From the beginning, I felt everything was right."

About Isac Lidberg

The 27-year-old Lidberg was born on September 8, 1998, in Stockholm, Sweden. He is 1.85 meters tall and plays as a striker.

Lidberg joined Hammarby's youth academy at the age of 11 and completed his Hammarby first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in July 2015, becoming the youngest player in the club's history play for the club.

The following April, Lidberg was loaned-out to Enskede, where his impressive performances attracted the attention of several small and medium-sized Swedish clubs.

In March 2017, Liderberg moved to Atvidabergs. Due to the team's poor overall performance however, Atvidabergs was ultimately relegated.

The following January, Lidberg joined Start. However, during his two-and-a-half-year spell with the team, Lidrberg never made an appearance, instead playing on-loan for Jerv, HamKam, and Brommapojkarna.

In February 2020, Lidberg joined Gefle on a free transfer.

The following July, Lidberg joined Go Ahead Eagles for €40,000.

In July 2023, Lidberg moved to Utrecht for €600,000. However, due to suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament, he was ruled out for the rest of the season starting in December of that year.

The following August, Lidberg joined Darmstadt for €1 million.

During his two-year spell at Darmstadt, Lidberg made 64 appearances for the 2. Bundesliga club in all competitions, scoring 32 goals and providing 11 assists.
