In a recent interview, American winger Christian Pulisic said that participating in the World Cup would certainly put pressure on the players, while also emphasizing his own strong desire to stand on the stage of such a grand event.
In an earlier friendly match, the United States, after falling behind, lost 1-2 to Germany thanks to a goal from Anthony Robinson.
In the 2025/26 Serie A season, Pulisic contributed 8 goals and 4 assists for AC Milan, and together with his teammates helped the Rossoneri secure a place in European qualification.
When discussing the upcoming crucial tournament in his career, the 27-year-old Pulisic said, "In a sense, I've been going through similar situations throughout my career. This moment is even more important, but my preparation methods will not change."
"This is the World Cup, and everyone feels the pressure, but that's precisely why I keep training, and it's always been my dream. I long to stand on the World Cup stage, and I wouldn't trade anything in the world for this moment; it's an honor."
Pulisic continued, "Sometimes it can be really tough, everything is happening so fast. Sometimes I still feel like that young player who just made his debut, but actually I've been playing for the national team for 10 years, which is really unbelievable. I've already participated in one World Cup, and we've been through a lot together."
In addition, the United States will face Paraguay in the first round of Group D in the 2026 World Cup, while Pochettino's team will later play against Australia and Türkiye.
Pulisic also shared, "In my personal life, I have also experienced different challenges, and it's all about growth and living in the present."
“Now that we’re standing here, sometimes I let important moments slip by and even take them for granted, but I hope to truly enjoy these moments because that’s what matters most.”
