Liverpool manager Arne Sloot has been officially sacked after leading the team to the Premier League title.

Liverpool FC officially announced on Saturday that 47-year-old Arne Sloot will no longer serve as the first team manager, effective immediately.

Sloth has been in charge of Liverpool since July 2024, succeeding Jürgen Klopp, and has accumulated a record of 66 wins, 18 draws, and 29 losses. He also led the team to the 2024/25 Premier League title and reached the Champions League quarter-finals this season.

Besides Liverpool, Sloth also managed Dutch clubs such as Cambuur, AZ Alkmaar, and Feyenoord. His most notable achievements during this period were undoubtedly leading Feyenoord to one Eredivisie title and one Dutch Cup.

According to a joint statement released by Liverpool's management, Sloth's departure is closely related to adjustments in the club's future direction: "Undoubtedly, this decision was hard-won. Arne made significant and meaningful contributions to Liverpool during his tenure, and most importantly, achieved success for the fans and for us."

"Therefore, we are deeply grateful for all his achievements, especially considering that they are built upon his work ethic, diligence, and professional competence, which further confirms our view that he is a leader in the industry."

“From the moment we first met Alne, we immediately realized that he was not only willing to take responsibility, but also eager to embrace it. This was evident when he agreed to take over as manager, when he led us to the Premier League title, and when we faced tremendous challenges and pressure in the just-concluded season.”

"At the same time, we agree that change is imperative in order for the club to move forward. We reiterate that this decision was not made lightly, not at all."

“We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Arne. As the manager who led Liverpool to their 20th league title, he will always hold a special place in the club’s history.”

"This achievement is especially remarkable because it occurred in his first season as a coach, and it is all built on his outstanding coaching ability and leadership day after day."

"He also helped the club through an unimaginably difficult period after Diogo Jota's passing. The compassion and care he showed during this time fully demonstrated his personal charm."

"Therefore, we sincerely wish Alne all the best in the next phase of his coaching career and look forward to his continued success. We know that the legacy he left at Liverpool remains intact and will become increasingly significant in the years to come and even decades to come."

"Nevertheless, our conclusion is based on the understanding that the team's trajectory is best adjusted by changing direction. This is by no means a denigration of the work done by Alne during his tenure, nor does it diminish our respect for him, much less a denial of his talent. It simply indicates that we need a different approach."

“Alne will leave with our gratitude and a Premier League trophy. He also always knows that he and his family will always be welcome at Anfield.”

Liverpool have not yet disclosed who will succeed Sloth. However, multiple sources have confirmed that Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is about to take over at Anfield. He had previously confirmed that he would leave Bournemouth at the end of the season and had been linked with several clubs, including AC Milan, Bayer Leverkusen, and Crystal Palace.
