Dosumu is open to returning to the Bulls and will become a free agent this summer.

Former NBA player and Chicago Bulls analyst Kendall Gill recently revealed that Ayo Dosumu is open to returning to Chicago. His current contract expires this summer, and he is eligible to sign a three-year, $52.4 million extension with the Minnesota Timberwolves before June 30.

“I will definitely try to bring Ayodhya back, even knowing it will cost a lot of money,” Gill stated clearly on 104.3 The Score. “Based on my conversations with him this summer, I know Ayodhya is open to it. However, it will come at a great cost.”

Dosumu, 26, is a 6'6" (1.93m) and 91kg (4.5kg) guard who was selected by the Chicago Bulls with the 38th pick in the second round of the 2021 NBA draft. He spent his first four and a half seasons with the Bulls, playing a total of 324 regular season games, averaging 10.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 27.8 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 50.4% and a three-point percentage of 37.7%.

In February of this year, Dosumu and Julian Phillips were traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. To date, he has played 25 regular season games for the Timberwolves, averaging 14.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 28.9 minutes per game, playing a crucial role in the team's sixth-place finish in the Western Conference playoffs.

Dosumu also played 10 games in the playoffs, delivering an impressive performance with averages of 15.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists. Although the Timberwolves were ultimately eliminated by the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference semifinals, his consistent performance earned him the trust and recognition of the management.

Currently, the Timberwolves have made re-signing Dosumu their top priority this summer. Dosumu's desire to return to the Bulls undoubtedly adds significant uncertainty to the Timberwolves' player retention plans.
